bev's dream job

I know you're thinking being Mike's wife is a dream and being the mother of all those beautiful children must be so fulfilling how could she possibly want more. Well the truth is being a stay at home mom can make you feel like you are going to go nuts most of the time. Doesn't mean I love them any less, I just know my limits and after 8 years I am more than ready to go back to work. And Mike is just a little ready for me to start "helpin' out", which I want to do, I'm tired of being "financially challenged".

I got a job cleaning new construction homes, and it was okay until it got to be 100 degrees outside and it was at that point tomy surprise that I realized, I'm a wuss! I know, it's shocking, I'm a country girl, grew up running around cow fields and riding dirt bikes but when it comes to scraping paint off windows in the heat, well I am willing to admit I just can't do it!

So my frustration led to courage, the courage to ask the director at Choose Life if they might have a staff position for me. I love this ministry and was afraid if I got any other job I'd have to quit volunteering on Tuesday mornings, which I realized would kill me. So to my surprise she said it just so happened the Abstinence Director had resigned the day before.
So, I applied the next day, which was last Friday.I was nervous all weekend but on Tues. morning, she called me into her office for what she called a pre-interview. I think it went really well, we seemed to be on the same page, she actually commented she could see how fast my heart was beating.
I called the girl who is leaving the position and she filled me in all the aspects of the job, one of which would be speaking in middle schools and high schools, which I would love. Then I ran into the old abstinence director (who is now the Athens Director) at the pool on Friday (coincidence? I hope not). All the signs seem to be lining up as if this is God's will for my life, plus I always get teary-eyed whenever I talk about it so please pray, and think happy thoughts for me. Mike said he's looking forward to just hangin' out with Michael (just us guys he says). So I hope if not this job, one like it, and soon.

Ariel's Magical Birthday

We had Ariel's 4th birthday party at our house July 15th. We had a magician in the studio and he was great! He's the dad of a couple of their friends. Here's Ariel Assisting him. All the kids got a chance to assist and lots of candy magically appeared. Posted by Picasa

she's a big girl now!

I was surprised how nervous she was, she asked if I would stay until she wasn't scared anymore. Her teacher was very nice and once she started playing with her play-doh she was okay, oh, the power of play-doh.

Her teacher told her she would get on the bus before her sister and that she could save her a seat, too sweet, I can't wait till they get home, of course I wouldn't be bloggin' right now if they weren't gone. I need a shirt that says "I survived summer".

Ariel is upstairs drinking chocolate milk and watching Dora, she about had a "come apart"when she didn't get to go this morning, but she starts pre-school on the 14th. yay! and hopefully I will get my dream job, please pray and have happy thoughts for me!
